Idolbom Center Used by Over 118,000 Dual-Income and Multichild Families Last Year
Ministry of Gender Equality and Family visits Siheung Idolbom Center on the 25th

It was revealed that more than 118,000 households used the 'Idolbom Center' operated by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family last year.
According to the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family on the 25th, the Idolbom Centers used to be one per city, county, or district, but since expanding to two or more locations from 2023, the number of households using the service has significantly increased. The number of households using the Idolbom service last year increased by 37.2% compared to the previous year, with about 118,000 households including dual-income households (53,000 households), multi-child households (30,000 households), and single-parent households (19,000 households) utilizing the service.
The Ministry visited the Idolbom Center in Siheung City on the same day to review the project status and hear opinions from the field. Siheung City has been operating two Idolbom Centers since last year. The Siheung City Idolbom Center being visited this time is the first case of multiple institutions operating simultaneously. The number of households using the Idolbom Center in Siheung City increased by 52.2%, from 716 households in 2023 to 1,090 households last year.
This year, the Ministry plans to increase the care allowance paid to Idolbom caregivers from 11,630 KRW to 12,180 KRW per hour and provide an additional 1,500 KRW per hour for infant care allowance (for children under 36 months), aiming to expand service supply through improved treatment of Idolbom caregivers.
