Gwangju Office of Education Achieves Nation's Highest Fiscal Execution Rate... Secures 10 Billion Won in Grants
Achieving a 99% School Accounting Execution Rate
Expanding Benefits for Students and Staff
The Gwangju Office of Education announced on the 24th that it has secured an additional 4 billion KRW in general grants from the Ministry of Education through thorough fiscal execution. This serves as an incentive for the city education office exceeding its target for school accounting execution rates this year.
The Ministry of Education assigns annual execution rate targets to city and provincial education offices nationwide to promote effective management of school accounts and stimulate the local economy. It provides general grants as incentives to offices that surpass these targets. This year, the city education office achieved a school accounting execution rate of 99.0%, surpassing the Ministry's standard of 98.0%. This is the highest rate since the fiscal incentive was introduced in 2021. As a result, in addition to the 6 billion KRW already secured for achieving the local education finance execution rate target, the office has now secured a total of 10 billion KRW in additional resources solely from the fiscal execution rate category.
To enhance fiscal soundness, the city education office raised execution rates through customized management, including regular on-site school consulting, operating a "Pinpoint Inspection Team" to oversee schools with low execution rates, and introducing the "Red Mark System."
Superintendent Lee Jungseon stated, "This achievement is thanks to thorough budget execution management and the active efforts of school sites," and added, "We will actively utilize the secured resources so that students and staff can truly benefit from them."
