Uljugun to Establish Resident-Led Village Care System
Ulsan Ulju County announced on the 24th that it has released the selection results for the '2025 Ulju County Village Community Development Contest Project' and will officially begin the project.
This contest project supports residents in actively solving local issues and forming a community culture. In particular, this year, the project will be expanded to include a new initiative, the 'Ulju-type Care Community.'
This year, a total of 44 communities applied, including 6 'Ulju-type Care Communities,' and 24 communities were ultimately selected. Ulju County plans to allocate a total project budget of 150 million KRW, providing differentiated support to each community based on the scale and plan of their project.
The 'Ulju-type Care Community,' introduced for the first time this year, aims to move away from facility-centered care and establish a village-centered care system led by residents.
Ulju County plans to utilize local small libraries, idle spaces, and community hubs to provide children and youth aged 5 to 18 with customized learning support, play activities, and cultural and arts experience programs. The goal is to address gaps in childcare and establish a sustainable care model within the local community.
The existing village community project will continue to offer tailored support according to the growth stage of each community to enhance their self-sufficiency. There will be 29 first-stage village gatherings, 7 second-stage village activation sites, and 2 third-stage village living labs operating together.
Additionally, Ulju County will provide systematic support to help communities settle stably and achieve results, including preliminary consulting, project direction checks, suggestions for operational improvements, and education on the local subsidy management system.
For more information about the project, please contact the Small Business Support Team of the Local Economy Division at Ulju County Office.
An official from Ulju County stated, "This project will greatly help residents solve local issues on their own and form a sustainable community culture led by residents," adding, "We will actively promote community revitalization by creating an environment where residents can participate and cooperate voluntarily."
