Ministry of Science and ICT Supports Industry-Academia-Research AI Studies... Provides GPU Supplies by Quantity and Scale
"AI Research Computing Support Project"
Newly Established This Year... Information Session on the 24th
The government is set to actively promote a project supplying graphics processing units (GPUs) to support artificial intelligence (AI) research by domestic researchers.
The Ministry of Science and ICT, together with the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation (IITP), will hold an information session on the "2025 AI Research Computing Support Project" at 2 p.m. on the 24th at COEX.
This project was newly established this year to respond to the rapidly increasing demand for GPU-centered computing and to enhance the national AI research and development (R&D) competitiveness of researchers in academia, industry, and research institutes in Korea. The project scale includes configurations such as 8 NVIDIA H100 GPUs (equivalent to 1 server), 16 H100 GPUs (2 servers), 32 H100 GPUs (4 servers), and 64 H100 GPUs (8 servers) or more.
Researchers will be able to autonomously plan their projects by proposing the required GPU quantity, research period, and deliverables. During the information session, key details of the project and preliminary application preparation guidelines will be provided, followed by customized consultations for participating researchers after the session.
