Tida Secures Series A Funding... "Leaping Forward as a Global Multilingual Conversation App"
Edutech startup Tida announced on the 24th that it has secured Series A investment from JB Investment. The specific company valuation and investment amount remain undisclosed.
Tida's global conversation app, "Tida," has rapidly grown since launching its Korean language education service in 2020, surpassing 4 million cumulative global downloads. Last year, its revenue more than doubled compared to the previous year.
Tida applies an "interactive simulation" method that combines voice recognition technology with first-person perspective videos, providing users with an immersive learning experience as if they are having real conversations with native speakers on the screen. This differentiated approach, which goes beyond simple grammar learning to offer actual speaking experience, has ranked first among Korean language education apps and eighth among Japanese language education apps in major app stores.
With this investment, Tida plans to evolve into an AI-based multilingual learning content app. Starting with Spanish education content, it aims to expand various language learning contents for English-speaking users and establish itself as a global multilingual conversation app. To accelerate global market expansion, it also plans to actively recruit talent in global marketing and business development.
Heechul Jung, Senior Investment Officer at JB Investment, stated, "Tida demonstrated continuous growth potential by achieving double revenue growth and turning profitable last year," adding, "We expect Tida to expand more rapidly in the global market with this investment."
