Drivers Urged to Take Detours
Due to lingering flames from a wildfire that occurred near Uiseong-gun, North Gyeongsang Province, the section of the Cheongju-Yeongdeok Expressway between Seouiseong IC and Andong Junction (both directions) has been completely closed again.
The Daegu-Gyeongbuk Headquarters of Korea Expressway Corporation announced that traffic on the section would be fully controlled starting from 14:00. The corporation urged drivers to use nearby national roads as detours and to drive safely by following the instructions of safety personnel.
As road closures continue due to the aftermath of the wildfire, inconvenience is expected for drivers using this section. The Korea Expressway Corporation plans to closely monitor the situation and review whether to lift the traffic control.
