Gyeongbuk Province issued a 'Level 3 Wildfire Alert' and launched an all-out response to the wildfire that broke out in Uiseong on the 22nd.

View original imageGovernor Lee Cheolwoo presided over a situation assessment meeting at the on-site command headquarters set up at the Anpyeong-myeon office, emphasizing, "The top priority is to prevent loss of life and property," and ordered a strong response.
Governor Lee stated, "The most important thing in wildfire response is protecting human lives," and stressed, "Mobilize all available personnel, including police, village patrols, and voluntary security teams, to ensure rapid evacuation of residents, and strictly control the deployment of wildfire suppression teams to dangerous areas so that not a single casualty occurs."
He also instructed the rapid deployment of available resources such as military units and helicopters, and ordered thorough safety inspections of mobile communication facilities including KT.
For this wildfire response, Gyeongbuk Province has mobilized about 1,200 personnel including special suppression teams, deployed 30 helicopters, and dispatched around 110 firefighting vehicles for an all-out operation.
