Normal Operation Resumes from 10 a.m. on the 22nd
Closure Lifted Thanks to Swift Response; Drivers Urged to Drive Safely
The section of the Cheongju-Yeongdeok Expressway between Seouiseong IC and Andong Junction (both directions), which had been completely closed due to a wildfire in Uiseong-gun, North Gyeongsang Province, resumed normal traffic from 10 a.m. on the 22nd.
Previously, at around 5 p.m. on the 21st, all vehicle traffic in this section had been suspended due to a wildfire that broke out in Anpyeong-myeon, Uiseong-gun. However, thanks to the prompt response of the fire authorities and related agencies, the fire was brought under control and the closure was lifted.
An official from the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Headquarters of Korea Expressway Corporation said, "We ask drivers using this section to check traffic broadcasts and road variable message signs (VMS), and to pay special attention to safe driving."
