"Guardians of Local Safety" ... Changwon Special City Holds 4th Volunteer Fire Brigade Day Ceremony
Gratitude for the Dedication and Hard Work of the Volunteer Fire Brigade
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam successfully held the 4th Volunteer Fire Brigade Day ceremony at Samjin Sports Complex in Masanhappo-gu.
This event was organized to honor the dedication and social contributions of the volunteer fire brigade and to officially commend the hard work of its members.
The ceremony, held on the 21st, was attended by approximately 1,000 people, including Changwon Special City Mayor Hong Nam-pyo, provincial and city council members, and volunteer firefighters.
In addition, awards were presented to distinguished members in recognition of their dedication, and congratulatory speeches from the mayor, city council chairperson, and members of the National Assembly highlighted the importance and value of the volunteer fire brigade.
After the ceremony, a firefighting skills competition and sports events were held to promote camaraderie and cooperation among the members, as well as to strengthen their technical capabilities.
Currently, the Changwon Volunteer Fire Brigade consists of 1,817 members in 55 units, who, while engaged in their regular occupations, assist with firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical services, taking the lead in safeguarding the community.
Mayor Hong Nam-pyo of Changwon Special City stated, "This ceremony is an opportunity to express our gratitude for the dedication and hard work of the volunteer firefighters," and added, "We will continue to work together with the volunteer fire brigade to build a safer and more vibrant society."
