Guro-gu announced that all members of the Guro-gu Office wrestling team won medals at the ‘43rd Chairman’s National Wrestling Tournament’ held in Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do from March 14 to 20.
The Guro-gu Office wrestling team achieved great success at the ‘43rd Chairman’s National Wrestling Tournament,’ which they participated in for the first time this year, with freestyle wrestlers Kang Daegyu in the 92kg category, Jeong Yongseok in the 70kg category, and Choi Mireu in the 61kg category winning gold medals, and Choi Minwoo in the 65kg category winning a silver medal.
In particular, Choi Mireu, who joined the Guro-gu Office wrestling team this year in the 61kg category, achieved a dramatic comeback victory with a score of 12:9 against Son Sanghyun of the Pohang City Sports Council in the final match, bringing joy to the team by successfully competing in his first match after moving from the university division to the professional team.
Led by coach Jeong Sunwon, the Guro-gu Office wrestling team is set to begin intensive training in preparation for the ‘3rd Herald Economy·Korea Herald Cup National Wrestling Tournament’ to be held in April.
