Uiseong Volunteer Center Selected for Rural Talent Sharing Support Project for Six Consecutive Years
Improving Local Scenery and Revitalizing the Community Through Mural Volunteer Activities
The Uiseong-gun Volunteer Center in Gyeongbuk has been selected for the sixth consecutive year for the "2025 Rural Talent Sharing Local Organization Support Project" organized by the Korea Rural Community Corporation.
Through this project, Uiseong-gun will receive a total of 30 million KRW in support and will carry out the "Beginning of a Beautiful Path Together: Mural Volunteer Activity" project.
The target areas are three villages: Uiseong-eup, Geumseong-myeon, and Anpyeong-myeon. Talent sharing professional volunteer groups, volunteers, and local residents will join forces to create murals that reflect the unique characteristics of each village.
In particular, Uiseong-eup will focus on designs for safe alleyways, Geumseong-myeon will feature murals themed around its local specialty, peaches, and Anpyeong-myeon will install tile murals chosen directly by residents, all aiming to improve the local scenery in a way tailored to each community.
Kim Jusu, the governor of Uiseong-gun, said, "Being selected for this project for six consecutive years is thanks to the continuous efforts of the local community and volunteers. I hope this project not only improves the village environment but also strengthens the sense of community as residents participate together."
Meanwhile, the Rural Talent Sharing Local Organization Support Project is an annual program organized by the Korea Rural Community Corporation. It utilizes the knowledge and skills possessed by companies, organizations, and individuals to contribute to the improvement of living conditions and welfare in rural areas.
