The National Maritime Heritage Research Institute announced on the 20th that it will participate in the "2025 Seoul International Sports Leisure Industry Exhibition (SPOEX)" held at COEX, Seoul from the 27th to the 30th. The event is expected to attract about 50,000 visitors, including underwater sports and leisure industry professionals and scuba divers. The institute has been participating since 2006 to raise awareness of the importance and value of maritime heritage.

Participation in last year's 'Seoul International Sports Leisure Industry Exhibition'
View original imageThis year, thirty-six items will be exhibited, including underwater heritage replicas excavated from the Taean and Jindo waters, such as the treasure "Celadon Inlaid Chrysanthemum and Peony Patterned Maebyeong Vase and Bamboo Slips" found in Mado No. 2, a ship presumed to be from the Goryeo Dynasty. Models of the underwater excavation and exploration vessels Nurian and Seamuse will also be unveiled. A representative from the institute said, "Visitors can also experience the underwater excavation process through a self-developed portable underwater excavation experience box."
