KORAIL Jeonnam Headquarters Receives Award for Promoting Tourism in Gokseong County
KORAIL Jeonnam Headquarters announced on the 20th that it received a plaque of appreciation in recognition of its contribution to revitalizing tourism in Gokseong County.
Gokseong County possesses tourism resources linked to railways, such as the Seomjingang Train Village, steam locomotive experiences, and rail bikes. Based on these, KORAIL Jeonnam Headquarters has developed and operated various railway tourism products. In particular, it has closely cooperated with Gokseong County by increasing train operations to attract visitors to the Gokseong World Rose Festival, the county's representative festival, and by improving station environments for customer convenience.
KORAIL Jeonnam Headquarters contributed to the revitalization of tourism in Gokseong County by expanding tourism programs in connection with Jeolla Line KTX and regular trains, and by promoting cooperative projects to boost tourism in areas with declining populations. This year, it plans to further accelerate tourism revitalization in Gokseong County by additionally operating local love railway travel packages.
