Siheung-si Launches Organizing Committee for the 17th National Marine Sports Festival
Held Around Turtle Island From August 30 to September 2
Yachting, Canoeing, Underwater and Fin Swimming, and Triathlon to Take Place
Siheung City launched a promotion committee on the 19th to prepare for the "17th National Marine Sports Festival" to be held around Turtle Island in Sihwa Lake from August 30 to September 2.

View original imageThe committee is co-chaired by Im Byeong-taek, Mayor of Siheung, and Jeong Won-dong, Chairman of the Siheung City Sports Council. The committee is divided into four teams composed of executives from five sports organizations including the Korea Marine Boy Scouts Federation, and local related organizations and groups responsible for support tasks such as transportation, safety, accommodation, and publicity to prepare for the event.
This year’s event will feature four official sports: ▲yachting ▲canoeing ▲underwater and fin swimming ▲triathlon, as well as three additional events: ▲dragon boat ▲rubber boat ▲flyboard. The city plans to link this event with local festivals such as the "Turtle Island Marine Festival" and the "Siheung Mayor’s Cup International Surfing Competition."
