View original imageEarlier, since the launch of the 8th term, Goyang City has actively promoted 70 pledges across eight major sectors including economy, education, culture, and transportation, and it has been reported that 42 pledges have been fulfilled so far, achieving a pledge fulfillment rate of 60%.
Mayor Lee said, “The achievements of steadily promoting the pledges over the past 2 years and 8 months are becoming visible as Goyang Special City with a population of 1.08 million leaps forward as a global self-sufficient city,” and added, “Please do your best to ensure that the remaining pledges are fulfilled without any setbacks so that we can keep our promises to the citizens until the end.”
Regarding the construction of the KINTEX Exhibition Hall 3, he stated, “This year marks an important point when core projects for realizing a global self-sufficient city, such as the commencement of foundation work for KINTEX Exhibition Hall 3, the center of Korea’s MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry, the creation of Ilsan Technovalley and Broadcasting Video Valley, and the promotion of the Free Economic Zone, will be fully underway,” and emphasized, “Please thoroughly manage policies with both a challenging and meticulous approach to ensure all projects proceed without any setbacks.”
He also said, “The ‘Goyang International Flower Festival,’ a representative festival of Goyang Special City, will be held at Ilsan Lake Park from April 25 to May 11 under the theme ‘Flowers, Imagination, and Fragrance,’” and added, “As this festival contributes to promoting the excellence of Goyang’s floriculture and enhancing the city’s brand image as a city of flowers, I hope for active promotion to encourage enthusiastic interest and participation from citizens.”
Furthermore, Mayor Lee said, “With the arrival of the thawing season, from March 17 to April 18, we will conduct a comprehensive inspection and maintenance of road facilities to promptly address safety hazards such as potholes and cracks occurring throughout the roads,” and stressed, “Please put more effort into realizing the ‘3 Safety Administration’ (Safety, Security, Stability) through thorough road inspections.”
Mayor Lee reviewed the development plan for the Daegok Station area special district linked with the complex transfer center. He said, “With the opening of GTX, five rail lines intersect at Daegok Station, and additional connections should be considered in the future,” and added, “Accordingly, it is necessary to systematically establish the complex transfer center.” He continued, “Among these, the most important aspect to focus on is securing ‘parking’ space, so please establish a thorough plan to make it more convenient for citizens to use.”
