Seorak Bandabi Sports Center, a facility where both disabled and non-disabled people can use together, opened its doors on the 18th in Seorak-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Seo Tae-won).

View original imageAccording to Gapyeong-gun on the 19th, the opening ceremony was attended by Seo Tae-won, Governor of Gapyeong-gun, Kim Kyung-soo, Chairman of the Gapyeong County Council and council members, Kim Yong-tae, National Assembly member, Lim Kwang-hyun, Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly member, and other key guests and local residents to celebrate the birth of a "space of hope."
Before the main event, Governor Seo Tae-won, Chairman Kim Kyung-soo, National Assembly member Kim Yong-tae, and other guests held a commemorative tree planting and a plaque unveiling ceremony for the sports center.
In his commemorative speech, Governor Seo Tae-won expressed, "I hope the Bandabi Sports Center will become a focal point for social integration in the local community." Chairman Kim Kyung-soo showed his expectations in his congratulatory speech, saying, "The Bandabi Sports Center will greatly contribute to improving welfare conditions in Seorak-myeon." National Assembly member Kim Yong-tae stated, "I will do my best to expand welfare infrastructure in Gapyeong-gun, which has been marginalized as a blind spot for culture, welfare, and medical benefits."
The opening ceremony was decorated with beautiful melodies from the Gapyeong-gun Boys and Girls Choir and an impressive sign language performance by the Gapyeong-gun Sign Language Interpretation Center team, "Boim Sori."
Attendees enjoyed various attractions and celebrated the opening of the Bandabi Sports Center. The Seorak Bandabi Sports Center was built as a three-story building with a total floor area of 2,500㎡. A total of 12.8 billion KRW was invested, including 5 billion KRW from the national government and 7.8 billion KRW from the county government, and it was constructed as a socially integrated sports facility that can be used by both disabled and non-disabled people.
