On the 19th, Taean County announced at a regular briefing by the Finance Division in the county office briefing room that it plans to focus its administrative efforts this year on the successful promotion of the construction projects for the Wonbuk-myeon Administrative Welfare Center, the Iwon-myeon Administrative Welfare Center, and the Anmyeon-Gonam Integrated Official Residence.
The Wonbuk-myeon Administrative Welfare Center project is being built on a 7,880-square-meter site at 171 Bangye-ri, Wonbuk-myeon, with a total floor area of 3,170 square meters and three above-ground floors, replacing the old and outdated government building.
It is expected to become a resident-friendly complex government building equipped with amenities such as a resident lounge, shared kitchen, health management room, and multipurpose room, in addition to the functions of the existing township office.
Construction began with a groundbreaking ceremony in October 2023, and the project is currently 93% complete. The county plans to make every effort to complete the ongoing interior and exterior finishing work and aims to finish construction and relocate offices by April this year.
The Iwon-myeon Administrative Welfare Center will also greet residents with a new look.
The county recognizes the need for a complex government building that encompasses both the administrative welfare center and the residents' autonomy center, and plans to build a new three-story facility with a total floor area of 2,149 square meters on a 5,388-square-meter site at 47-2 Poji-ri, Iwon-myeon.
Approval for the local financial investment review by Chungcheongnam-do was completed in October last year. After finishing the design work this year, construction will begin next year with the goal of completion by June 2027.
The Anmyeon-Gonam Integrated Official Residence is being built to support employees with long commutes. The county is constructing a new two-story residence with nine units on a 1,396-square-meter site at 1201 Seungeon-ri, Anmyeon-eup.
After breaking ground in September last year, the county has completed the retaining wall and framework construction, reaching 43% completion. The county plans to finish construction by August this year and begin full operation of the residence in September, providing an environment where employees can focus on their work conveniently.
Park Junseo, head of the Finance Division, stated, "This year marks the fourth anniversary of the 8th popularly elected administration, and we will do our utmost to successfully promote projects aimed at 'resident-friendly government buildings and improving resident convenience.' We will ensure thorough management and supervision so that residents can receive high-quality administrative services in a better environment."
