Mayor Lee will participate in the ‘Strengthening Cities with AI - Opening a New Era through AI’ session at the Smart City Digital Forum held after the opening on the 20th, where he will introduce Goyang City's smart city policies. He plans to share the roles of digital twins (technology that implements machines, equipment, and objects from the real world into a virtual world) and AI to improve administrative service efficiency and urban resilience.
On the 21st, he will attend the ‘CityCOP Forum,’ which discusses major agendas of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change at the city level. The theme of this forum is ‘Climate-neutral Cities Achieved through Community Cooperation and Innovation.’ Mayor Lee will introduce Goyang City's resource circulation policies in the session ‘Reconsidering Resources: The Path to a Circular City’ and participate in the subsequent panel discussion.
He will also visit the Tainan Science Park, a Taiwanese science and technology complex, to observe key facilities related to advanced industries and innovative technologies and explore ways to build networks with companies and research institutions.
Meanwhile, on the 22nd, to further strengthen exchanges with Kaohsiung City, Taiwan’s second-largest city and a representative industrial city, a memorandum of understanding for friendly cooperation will be signed. Both cities plan to expand cooperation in smart city fields such as smart infrastructure construction, introduction of eco-friendly technologies, and AI-based city operations.
Additionally, the two cities will share strategies and know-how in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and performance industries to seek mutual development opportunities, and share related infrastructure in agriculture and floriculture industries to promote sustainable co-prosperity. In the field of youth education, exchange programs for nurturing global talents will also be promoted.
