On this day, about 50 seniors at the center requested that Mayor Lee address the shortage and aging of dining tables and chairs used for meals at the senior center.
The city plans to actively reflect these concerns and support the senior center so that the elderly can enjoy leisure activities in a comfortable and safe environment.
To this end, the city is currently implementing a support project to provide basic supplies and health and leisure items to registered senior centers in the area.
In the first half of this year, a total budget of 200 million KRW is being invested, and the demand for supplies at each senior center is currently being surveyed through the local administrative welfare centers.
Mayor Lee Wan-seop said, "We will pay close attention and manage the senior centers carefully so that the elderly can use them without inconvenience," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that the senior centers can be renewed as spaces for rest and leisure for the elderly."
Meanwhile, the Neulpureun Oscarville Apartment Senior Center operates a free senior cafeteria, providing lunch three times a week to about 50 to 60 elderly residents.
