Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) has been selected as a pilot district for the activation of Seoul's public delivery service (Ttaenggyeoyo), allowing both affiliated stores and consumers to enjoy more benefits.
In February, the district applied for the "Public Delivery Service Pilot District Contest" hosted by Seoul City to promote the public delivery service. Gwanak-gu was finally selected as a pilot district in recognition of its efforts to activate public delivery, such as issuing Gwanak Ttaenggyeoyo gift certificates.
Along with Gwanak-gu, three districts selected as pilot districts signed a business agreement with Seoul City on the 18th to expand the market share of the public delivery service. The signing ceremony was attended by Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, the president of the Korea Franchise Industry Association, representatives of four related organizations, and representatives of three delivery agencies, strengthening cooperation to promote Seoul's public delivery service.
Through this agreement, the district will find the best strategies for the success of a fair delivery market, including supporting consumer benefits and expanding affiliated stores.
Districts selected as pilot districts will be able to provide more benefits to public delivery service affiliated stores and consumers. Users of the public delivery service can receive a 15% discount when purchasing delivery-only gift certificates, payback events, and discount coupons.
For small business owners, support such as the industry's lowest brokerage fee (2%), zero entry fees, zero monthly usage fees, and zero advertising costs will reduce the burden of using the service.
The district has been implementing various consumption promotion policies to recover the livelihood economy, which has been depressed due to the national administration and economic situation at the end of last year.
In January, Gwanak-gu issued 20 billion KRW worth of Gwanak Love gift certificates early and held a payback event that refunds 5% of the payment amount as mobile gift certificates for the first time in the district, receiving great responses from residents.
The Gwanak Ttaenggyeoyo gift certificates were completely sold out within a week of issuance earlier this year, and the district plans to issue an additional 500 million KRW worth in the second half of the year, the same amount as the first half.

District Mayor Park Jun-hee said, "Our district has the highest proportion of single-person households in Seoul at 62.6%, and accordingly, the usage of delivery services is high, so it will be a successful case for activating public delivery services." He added, "In a situation where consumption has been depressed due to difficult national administration and prolonged economic recession, I hope this pilot district selection will provide practical help to residents and small business owners."
