Hyundai Department Store Group announced on the 18th that it will join hands with Busan Metropolitan City to participate in a senior job creation project.

Holdings, the holding company of Hyundai Department Store Group, held a ceremony to deliver a sponsorship fund of 200 million KRW for the establishment of the "Our Neighborhood ESG Center" at Busan City Hall in Yeonje-gu, Busan Metropolitan City. The Our Neighborhood ESG Center, promoted by Busan Metropolitan City, is an eco-friendly project that recycles local waste resources through senior job creation programs. The first center opened in December 2022 and has been conducting eco-friendly activities such as collecting waste plastics and producing upcycled products, with plans to open a total of 16 branches by 2026.
The sponsorship fund delivered this time will be used to establish the 6th branch of the Our Neighborhood ESG Center located in Gangseo District, Busan. This center collects waste plastics such as bottle caps and PET bottles, then cleans and processes them to manufacture upcycled products as part of resource circulation activities. Both parties expect the opening of the 6th branch to create 200 senior jobs.
Jang Hojin, President of Hyundai G.F. Holdings, said, "We aim to support the safe and healthy aging of seniors through eco-friendly senior job creation in cooperation with Busan Metropolitan City," adding, "We will continue sincere social contribution activities in line with our management policy to fulfill corporate social responsibility."
