Yangsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor (Branch Manager Kwon Guhyung) held a 'On-site Settlement Meeting for Work-Family Balance Systems in Small and Medium Enterprises' on the 18th, providing information on the expanded work-family balance systems for this year and gathering various opinions from the field.

View original imageParticipants at the meeting included the Yangsan City local government, the Yangsan Regional Headquarters of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions, the Yangsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ulsan-Yangsan Employers Federation, the Yangsan Small Business Association, the Yangsan Women's New Work Center, the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service Workplace Daycare Center, and the exemplary company Busan Eomuk.
During the meeting, information was provided on this year's amendments to the three childcare support laws, maternity and childcare support systems, and flexible work support systems for work-family balance. Busan Eomuk, which was selected last year as an exemplary company for work and childcare support systems in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region, shared its best practices.
Kwon Guhyung, the branch manager, stated, "The Ministry of Employment and Labor is continuously expanding support systems to help working parents achieve work-life balance, but small and medium enterprises face practical difficulties in active utilization due to manpower and cost burdens compared to large companies. The government, local governments, labor and management organizations, and related agencies will focus on continuously promoting support systems, providing guidance and inspections at workplaces, and ensuring that the expanded work-family balance systems are well established at the field level through cooperation and collaboration."
