Director Ham Ikbyung Donates to Changwon Hometown Love Donation Program Designated Project
Donates 1 Million Won to the "Jinhae Cherry Blossom Revival Project"
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced on the 18th that Ham Ikbyung, a dermatologist and TV personality, donated 1 million won to the "Jinhae Cherry Blossom Revival Project," a designated donation project under the Hometown Love Donation Program.
Ham Ikbyung said, "I have vivid memories of building friendships with my friends on the cherry blossom-filled streets of Jinhae every spring during my days at Jinhae Nam Middle School," and added, "I decided to donate because I wanted to preserve these precious memories and pass on the beautiful cherry blossom scenery to future generations. I support the success of the 'Cherry Blossom Revival Project.'"
The "Jinhae Cherry Blossom Revival Project" is a project to supply nutrients to aging cherry trees, aiming to create a healthy growing environment and maintain the beautiful street landscape. The city selected it as a designated donation project under the Hometown Love Donation Program. The goal is to raise 500 million won over three years starting from January this year, and the project will be fully implemented once the target amount is reached.
Kim Changwoo, head of the Taxation Division, stated, "The donations from this designated Hometown Love Donation Program project will be used to prevent diseases and pests in cherry trees and to create a healthy growing environment." He added, "We especially express our deep gratitude to Director Ham Ikbyung for donating to the 'Jinhae Cherry Blossom Revival Project' ahead of the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival."
Meanwhile, the designated donation projects under the Hometown Love Donation Program allow donors to directly choose which project to support from those selected by the local government. The city's designated projects include the Jinhae Cherry Blossom Revival Project, the Civil Support Navy Personnel Assistance Project, and the Masan Great Bell Installation Project. Donors can receive a full tax credit for donations up to 100,000 won, and 16.5% for any amount exceeding that, as well as thank-you gifts worth up to 30% of the donation amount.
