Construction and Logging Businesses: Report and Pay Employment and Industrial Accident Insurance Premiums by March 31
Easy Reporting via Total Service:
Premium Reduction Benefits and Prize Events
Report and Pay Within the Deadline
to Receive Durunuri Social Insurance Support
The Korea Workers' Compensation & Welfare Service (President Park Jonggil) announced on the 17th that construction and logging businesses enrolled in employment and industrial accident insurance must report and pay their insurance premiums by March 31.
Reporting insurance premiums for construction and logging businesses involves settling the premiums paid based on the total remuneration of the previous year and paying the premiums for this year by reporting the current year's total remuneration.
Mr. A, who is in charge of employment and industrial accident insurance at a construction company, reported his premiums one day after last year's deadline and had to pay both a surcharge and late fees.
Mr. B, who runs an interior construction business, reported on time through the Total Service, received a premium reduction, won a prize in a promotional event, and enjoyed various benefits including the Durunuri social insurance support.
The Korea Workers' Compensation & Welfare Service emphasized that missing the insurance premium reporting and payment deadline may result in a fine of up to 3 million KRW and a surcharge amounting to 10% of the confirmed insurance premium, and Durunuri social insurance support may also be restricted, so businesses are strongly encouraged to report within the deadline.
Insurance premiums can be reported using the Employment and Industrial Accident Insurance Total Service, by fax, mail, or in person.
If fax is not available, you can install the Korea Workers' Compensation & Welfare Service mobile app 'TOUCH! Sanjaegoyong', take a photo of the completed insurance premium report, and send it via the 'Send Photo via Mobile' menu.
In particular, the Service noted that using the Total Service allows users to calculate the total remuneration and insurance premiums in advance with the 'Premium Calculator', pay premiums, receive premium reduction benefits, and participate in a coffee gifticon event, encouraging many to use the service.
President Park Jonggil stated, "We will operate an on-site rapid response team until the reporting deadline to ensure there is no inconvenience in reporting insurance premiums, and we hope that many businesses report within the deadline to avoid missing out on premium reduction and other benefits."
