Gijang County in Busan Launches 'Gijang SOLO Care' Project... Financial Support for Care Services for Single-Person Households in Need
Gijang County in Busan is implementing the 'Gijang SOLO Care' project, which provides caregiving expense support for single-person households in need of care due to hospitalization.
This project was established to alleviate the financial burden on single-person households with weak care systems due to social isolation and disconnection, and to support their healthy living.
The support is available to single-person households registered as residents in Gijang County with a median income at or below 100% of the standard.
If a patient uses caregiving services through a caregiving agency during hospitalization, they can receive support for caregiving expenses. However, the support for caregiving expenses applies only to costs incurred after the project announcement date of March 17.
Caregiving expenses are supported up to 100,000 KRW per day, for up to 7 days once per year, with an annual maximum of 700,000 KRW. The support rate varies between 70% and 100% depending on income level and degree of disability, and detailed standards can be found in the announcement posted on the county website.
