On the 17th, Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, met with Tanee Sangrat, the Thai Ambassador to Korea, at the provincial government office reception room and agreed to strengthen mutual cooperation, expand exchanges, and enhance mutual understanding between Thailand and Jeollanam-do.
Governor Kim expressed his deep condolences for the two Thai victims of the recent Jeju Air accident and especially thanked the ambassador for personally visiting the joint memorial altar at Muan International Airport in January.
He emphasized, "We consider exchanges with Thailand, which has abundant historical and cultural resources, to be very important, and we will continue to make efforts to promote more active cooperation, especially in the fields of agriculture, tourism, and human exchanges."
Ambassador Tanee Sangrat responded, "By visiting various institutions in Jeollanam-do, we will seek multifaceted ways of cooperation so that the friendly relationship between the two sides can further develop," and added, "I hope that exchanges and cooperation between Jeollanam-do and Thailand will continue in diverse fields such as tourism, steel, chemistry, energy, and space and advanced industries, as well as the economy."
Through this visit, Jeollanam-do plans to further strengthen its relationship with Thailand and expand cultural and economic cooperation between the two sides in the future.
