Gwangju Nam-gu Council Forms Research Group for Safety Policy Improvement
"Reviewing Safety-Related Ordinances and Proposing Policy Alternatives"
The Gwangju Nam-gu Council (Chairperson Nam Ho-hyun) announced that on the 17th, it held a Council Member Research Group Review Committee meeting to deliberate on the registration and activity plans of the council member research group "Safety Policy Improvement Research Group."
The "Safety Policy Improvement Research Group" consists of seven members, including Representative Council Member Noh So-young, as well as Nam Ho-hyun, Park Yong-hwa, Park Sang-gil, Shin Jong-hyuk, Hwang Kyung-a, and Eun Bong-hee.
The research group will comprehensively review the safety level of Nam-gu and related ordinances using expert assessments and safety grade indicators from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. It will also propose directions for establishing policies to strengthen safety for vulnerable groups and seek ways to develop Nam-gu's safety policies by researching outstanding domestic and international cases.
Through this research group, activities such as expert panel discussions, policy exploration forums for vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly, and reviews of safety-related ordinances in Nam-gu to identify directions for improvement are planned.
Noh So-young stated, "We will do our best to ensure that Nam-gu's safety policies continue to develop and that vulnerable groups are protected by engaging in active discussions and incorporating expert opinions to present effective policies."
