According to the agreement, Gwangsan-gu will lease a 1,045.9㎡ plot at 1680 Jangdeok-dong near Suwan Lake Park free of charge for two years to establish a temporary public parking lot. The lot will accommodate a total of 40 parking spaces and is scheduled to open in July.
The Suwan district is facing severe parking shortages due to urban development and population growth. In response to residents' demands, Gwangsan-gu has been discussing land utilization plans with LH. Since the parking lot is adjacent to Suwan Lake Park, parking convenience is expected to improve. Gwangsan-gu plans to further review utilization plans depending on operational circumstances.
Previously, on the 13th, Gwangsan-gu also signed a sales contract with LH for the site of the Seonun 2 District parking lot and parking complex building. The complex building will be constructed as a five-story structure above ground. This project aims to resolve parking shortages and relocate the Eoryong-dong Administrative Welfare Center. The building will house approximately 110 parking spaces along with the administrative welfare center. Gwangsan-gu has secured a 1,626.7㎡ site in the Sochon-dong area, with completion targeted for December 2027.
Park Byungkyu, head of the district office, said, "We will proactively address parking shortages caused by urban expansion," and added, "We will strengthen cooperation with LH to reduce inconvenience for residents."
