Chungnam Governor Kim Taeheum Orders Proper Implementation of Hongye Park Premium Development Project
At the Directors' Meeting:
"Trees are not growing well... Stay on site and conduct daily inspections"
Chungnam Governor Kim Tae-heum gave instructions regarding the Hongye Park premium park development project, stating, "It seems that trees are not growing well, possibly due to soil issues within the park," and added, "Have the relevant officials stay on site to supervise and conduct daily inspections to ensure the work is done properly."
During a meeting with directors and department heads held at the provincial government office on the morning of the 17th, Governor Kim also addressed the Population Strategy Bureau's report, saying, "As the population decreases, the number of school-age children is also declining. The province should proactively respond so that university admission quotas within the province can be adjusted accordingly in the future."
He further remarked, "It seems that the Culture and Tourism Foundation is not providing adequate support for tourism projects related to the Chungnam Visit Year," and instructed, "Ensure that the foundation can fulfill its role through proper coordination."
Additionally, he stated, "Now that the West Sea Research Institute of the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology, which had been delayed for over 15 years, has been decided to be established in Seocheon, relevant departments should take the lead in securing projects such as marine bio and ecological restoration, and actively work to attract related companies."
In particular, he noted, "On the 13th, the 2027 Nonsan World Strawberry Expo was selected as a candidate for an international event, which is expected to create over 3,000 jobs and generate 530 billion won in economic effects," and instructed, "Secure the latest storage technologies and establish networks with related companies in advance through international symposiums and strawberry festivals."
Governor Kim also said, "On the 26th, the Dangjin Smart Livestock ICT Demonstration Complex is scheduled to be completed," and added, "As we are pursuing AI technology development and workforce training through an MOU with China's Yangxiang Group, make sure the smart livestock complex can serve as a venue for training and exchange."
