Lee Jae-myung to Hold AI-Themed Dialogue with Yuval Harari on the Evening of the 22nd
Scheduled for a 90-minute live broadcast at the National Assembly Sarangjae
Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, will have a dialogue with Yuval Harari, a world-renowned scholar and former professor of history at Hebrew University, on the 22nd.
On the 17th, the Democratic Party announced that Lee will meet with former professor Harari, who is visiting Korea for the first time in eight years, at the National Assembly Sarangjae for a 90-minute discussion on the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and humanity's response to it. The dialogue will be broadcast live in two parts.

The dialogue is expected to cover topics such as "What changes AI will bring to the labor market and what strategies are needed to preserve uniquely human skills and values," "What measures political leaders should take to protect workers and ensure fair growth," "What role basic social models can play in responding to job losses caused by AI," "What systems or policies should be established to secure effective AI governance," and "What responsibilities political leaders must bear to ethically utilize AI and maintain a human-centered society in an era of changing technology."
Regarding this dialogue, it is known that Professor Harari agreed to participate pro bono. Previously, during the last presidential election, Lee also held a similar format of virtual dialogue with Michael Sandel, a professor at Harvard University.

Kang Sun-woo, a Democratic Party lawmaker who is reported to have coordinated this dialogue, stated, "We expect that Lee, who is leading the discourse on AI, will present a new policy vision through his dialogue with Harari," and added, "The Democratic Party will continue to take the lead in future growth discourse."
