During a weekly staff meeting on the morning of the 17th, Mayor Lee said, "The number of applications is lower than expected. There may still be people who are unaware of the program, so it is not appropriate to set a strict application deadline."
He added, "The effectiveness of support policies for small business owners is most important," and directed, "Strengthen publicity efforts in cooperation with organizations and district offices for those who may be too busy with their businesses to be aware of the program."
The city has allocated an emergency support fund of 35.11 billion won from the total project budget of 43.73 billion won, as part of its top-priority policy for the local economy, through a one-time supplementary budget.
The original application period was set from the 21st of last month to the 26th of this month, with applications being accepted 24 hours a day, including weekends and holidays, through the Daejeon Credit Guarantee Foundation's online application system.
