and Unveils the March 15 Independence Movement Symbolic Tower
Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Seo Tae-won) announced on the 17th that on the 14th, it held the 38th Gapyeong Uibyeong March 15 Anti-Japanese Movement Commemoration Ceremony and the March 15 Independence Movement Symbol Tower Unveiling Ceremony at the park of the birthplace of the March 15 Independence Movement in Mokdong-ri, Buk-myeon.

View original imageAbout 60 people attended the event, including Governor Seo Tae-won, Kim Kyung-soo, Chairman of the Gapyeong County Council, county council members, Lim Kwang-hyun, Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly member, Jo Wan-su, Chairman of the Gapyeong County Veterans Association Council, Kim Woo-il, Chairman of the Gapyeong County Liberation Association, key leaders of Buk-myeon, liberation members, and local residents. During the commemoration ceremony, the noble spirit and historical significance of the March 15 Independence Movement were recalled. A moment of silence and flower offerings were held to honor the will of the ancestors who resisted Japanese oppression and wished for the country's independent sovereignty.
At the unveiling ceremony that followed, a symbolic tower measuring 7 meters in width and 6.4 meters in height, along with a memorial wall measuring 2.1 meters in height and 9.8 meters in width, were revealed.
The newly established symbolic tower is expected to become a space that commemorates the historical significance of the Gapyeong March 15 Independence Movement, which began in Myeokgol, Buk-myeon, Gapyeong-gun on March 15, 1919, and remembers the passionate cries for independence.
