Korea Credit Information Appoints Han Hoon, Former Deputy Minister of Agriculture, as Chairman of the Board

Korea Credit Information Services (KCS), a credit rating agency for sole proprietors, announced on the 17th that it has appointed Han Hoon, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, as the chairman of its board of directors.
Newly appointed KCS board chairman Han is a seasoned policy expert who has held key positions at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance. He entered public service in 1991 after passing the 35th Administrative Examination and has served as Director of Private Investment Policy and Director of Knowledge Economy Budget, among other roles. After spending three years from 2013 as Financial and Economic Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Japan, he served as Policy Planning Officer at the Ministry of Education in 2016 and as Chief Planning Officer of the Presidential Committee on Jobs in 2017. He then returned to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance in 2018, holding positions such as Director of Innovation Growth Policy at the Policy Coordination Bureau, Director of the Policy Coordination Bureau, Director of Economic Budget Review, and Deputy Minister. In May 2022, he was appointed Commissioner of Statistics Korea. In March of the following year, he was also appointed Vice Chair of the United Nations Statistical Commission. After being appointed Vice Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in July 2023, he concluded his public service career last year.
Chairman Han stated upon accepting the board chair position, "I have a connection with Korea Credit Data from when I was Commissioner of Statistics Korea, collaborating to provide small business owners' real-time data to Statistics Korea's Nowcast. I aim to help ensure that essential financial services are provided to small business owners based on their real-time data."

KCS operates the credit rating service for sole proprietors called ‘Credit Note.’ Through the ‘3-Minute Credit Rating Certificate Issuance Service,’ which allows business owners to verify their credit rating within three minutes by simply authenticating via Hometax, KCS has significantly reduced the issuance time of credit rating certificates for sole proprietors from the previous 3?4 days to just 3 minutes.
