The currently planned route runs from Jincheon in Chungbuk to Hapcheon in Gyeongnam. However, the three local governments share the position that an extension to Uiryeong and Haman is necessary for balanced development and the expansion of the transportation network in the western region of Gyeongnam.
The heads of Uiryeong, Haman, and Hapcheon counties adopted a joint proposal through this agreement and plan to submit it to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and related agencies, actively working to ensure that the route is included in the 2nd National Road Network Revision Plan.
Going forward, the three local governments will jointly conduct a signature campaign to gather residents' opinions on the necessity of the route extension, and will pursue meetings, as well as visits to the National Assembly and government ministries, to achieve tangible results.

Guaranteeing non-discriminatory mobility rights is important, and the issue should be approached from the perspective of balanced regional development."
Cho Geunje, Governor of Haman County, said, "Starting from this agreement ceremony, we must unite the aspirations of our residents to achieve positive results," and added, "Today marks the beginning of coexistence and mutual growth, as the three neighboring counties are connected as one."
Oh Taewan, Governor of Uiryeong County, stated, "An expressway is not just a road, but a foundation for growth that connects people and regions, as well as the economy and culture. Gyeongnam Province and local National Assembly members also support Uiryeong County's position and fully agree on its necessity. We will do our utmost to ensure the project can commence through cooperation with Hapcheon and Haman counties."
