Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon recently described his book 'Growth Again' as a "presidential election vision strategy book." He also stated that the candidate with the highest centrist appeal should face Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, in preparation for an early presidential election, mentioning a poll in which he was the closest competitor to Lee in a one-on-one race.
On the 14th, Mayor Oh appeared on SBS's 'Pyeon Sang-wook's News Briefing' and said, "If we do not prepare for a possible presidential election and suddenly hold the election, it could result in simply handing over the presidency to Lee Jae-myung." He added, "If the regime changes, the Democratic Party will control the legislative, judicial, and executive branches entirely." He continued, "Lee is unstable and dangerous," and expressed, "I feel that at least minimal preparation is necessary." He also stated that he is the right person to face Lee.
Mayor Oh said, "You must have seen polls where I was the closest in a one-on-one race," adding, "The candidate with the highest evaluation for centrist appeal should be the one to face (Lee)."
Regarding the allegations involving Myung Tae-gyun, he said that rather, Myung’s recordings serve as evidence of his innocence. Mayor Oh stated, "It is important whether the 13 unpublished polls were received by me or my campaign, but they have not been able to prove that at all," and added, "On the contrary, it is being proven that all the unpublished polls flowed into the party."
He also said, "In Myung’s recordings, he said, 'Oh Se-hoon is someone who doesn’t even know how he won the election,' and 'We failed to bring Oh Se-hoon in,' but recording all of this has actually become proof of my innocence."
Mayor Oh also spoke specifically about the subtitle of his book 'Growth Again,' which is 'Oh Se-hoon’s Five Major Companions, Becoming the Future.' He explained the themes of 'companionship with challenge and achievement, companionship with the vulnerable, companionship with future generations, companionship with local regions, and companionship with the international community' in order, and discussed the necessity of a 'Vice Minister for Corporate Growth' system. He then said, "You may also view this book as a presidential election vision strategy book."
Regarding the 'Land Transaction Permission System,' he said, "It was an anti-market regulation," and added, "We are currently carrying out regulatory reforms for 100 days starting January 1, and the Land Transaction Permission System is one of them. Since prices were artificially suppressed until now, it is natural for them to rise." However, he said, "If prices rise excessively, we will have no choice but to regulate again." About the 'Commercial Act Amendment' passed in the National Assembly led by the Democratic Party, he said, "Corporate management could be weakened, and Lee would not be unaware of this," calling it "Lee’s cunning trick."
