Buan Cultural Foundation to Hold 'Korean Children's Poetry Festival' on May 17
Held at Seokjeong Literature Museum and Cheongguwon
The Buan Cultural Foundation in North Jeolla Province will hold the 3rd Korea Children's Poetry Festival (hereafter referred to as the Children's Poetry Festival) on May 17 at the Seokjeong Literature Museum and Cheongguwon in Buan.
The Children's Poetry Festival is a cultural and artistic festival where children and adults, the general public and literary figures, people with and without disabilities, and various members of society can participate and interact together. The festival features diverse programs such as competitions, hands-on experiences, performances, and exhibitions, mainly designed to stimulate children's creativity and imagination.

View original imageWith the theme "Buan, Dream Playground," this year's festival aims to offer a special experience where people of all ages can return to their childhood and have fun together.
Main programs include the Children's Poetry Contest, Family Creative Children's Poetry Recitation Contest, Children's Poet School Competition, Children's Playground (Art & Recreation), Mobile Book Bus, Story Theater with Children's Poetry Writers, Library Experience Booths, Our Family Flea Market, and special performances.
This year in particular, the festival has been planned in collaboration with various public and private organizations such as the Buan Office of Education, elementary schools in Buan, Buan County Library and small libraries, institutions related to children and youth, as well as local organizations and literary groups, actively reflecting local characteristics and creative ideas from the planning stage.
A foundation representative said, "The Children's Poetry Festival is a cultural and artistic venue where different generations can enjoy and share creative experiences through children's poetry, and we aim to make it a festival that highlights the participation and cooperation of local residents. We hope this festival will be a meaningful time for both local residents and visitors to Buan, and serve as an opportunity for Buan's culture and arts to further grow."
Meanwhile, participatory programs such as the Children's Poetry Contest and Family Creative Children's Poetry Recitation Contest, which children and families can enjoy together, will begin accepting applications through the foundation's website from the 2nd of next month.
