Yeongju City to Implement Paid Parking at Hamang-dong Public Parking Lot No. 4
One Hour Free Parking
Preventing Long-Term Parking and Alleviating Parking Shortages
Yeongju City announced that starting from the 19th, the Hamang-dong No. 4 Public Parking Lot will become a paid facility.
The Hamang-dong No. 4 Public Parking Lot is a multi-purpose building established to improve parking conditions in the old downtown area and to provide convenience for citizens using the library. It was opened free of charge in May last year.
As the number of vehicles parked for extended periods has increased, leading to ongoing issues of parking space shortages, the city decided to implement paid parking to enhance operational efficiency and prevent long-term parking and unauthorized vehicle abandonment.
The parking lot will operate from 8 AM to 6 PM. The first hour is free, and a fee of 500 KRW will be charged for every additional 30 minutes. The maximum daily fee is 5,000 KRW, and a monthly parking pass costs 70,000 KRW. From 6 PM to 8 AM the next day, parking is free.
Additionally, according to Yeongju City's parking lot ordinance, vehicles with disability stickers, national merit recipients, compact cars, and low-emission vehicles are eligible for a 50% discount on parking fees.

We kindly ask for the active cooperation of citizens to establish a proper parking culture and for your understanding regarding the paid parking operation."
