Actor Lee Pilmo and Hip-Hop Rapper Reddy Appointed as Daejeon City Ambassadors
Increased to 59 Promotional Ambassadors
Including Fencing Champion Oh Sangwook and Football Player Hwang Inbeom
Daejeon City announced that it has appointed actor Lee Pilmo and hip-hop rapper Reddy (real name Kim Hongwoo) as promotional ambassadors to enhance the city's brand status and strengthen internal and external public relations.
Actor Lee Pilmo is currently starring in the KBS weekend drama "Please Take Care of the Eagle Five Brothers!" and is well-known to the public for his roles in numerous works such as "You Are My Destiny" and "Sons of Sol Pharmacy House." He won the Best Actor Award at the 2017 Korea Culture and Entertainment Awards and is currently serving as an adjunct professor in the Department of Performing Arts Content at Daejeon University and as a member of the Daejeon City Video Industry Promotion Committee.
Rapper Reddy is an artist from Daejeon who spent his school years at Hanbat Middle School and Bomun High School. He gained recognition for his skills through appearances on Mnet's "Show Me the Money" series and drew attention by finishing as runner-up in the 2024 Tving hip-hop survival program "RAP:PUBLIC."
With the appointment of these two new ambassadors, Daejeon City now has a total of 59 promotional ambassadors, including 25 celebrities such as fencing champion Oh Sangwook, trot singer Kim Euyeong, and football player Hwang Inbeom, as well as 34 citizen ambassadors from university and high school press corps.
Daejeon Mayor Lee Jangwoo said, "We expect that these two individuals, who have demonstrated outstanding talent and influence in their respective fields, will now become the faces of Daejeon and further elevate the city's brand value. Their passion as promotional ambassadors will play a significant role in widely promoting Daejeon's charm and fostering closer communication with citizens."
