Increase in Radiation Monitor Readings Inside Reactor Building
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters (Director Lee Seyong) announced on the 12th, "At Shin Hanul Unit 2 (pressurized water reactor, 1.4 million kW class), the radiation monitor reading inside the reactor building increased, and in accordance with procedures, we reported this to the local office of the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission."
According to the on-site inspection at Shin Hanul Unit 2, a leak occurred at equipment near the reactor coolant pump, and to inspect the leak point, output reduction began at around 10:30 a.m., and the plant was shut down at 12:35 p.m.
