Busan Office of Education Implements 30-Minute Commute Guarantee for Special Schools
Support for Increasing the Number of School Buses for Special Schools
Strengthening Preparations to Welcome New Students for the New Semester
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will increase the number of school buses for special schools this year to expand the guarantee of a 30-minute commute zone for these schools.
This initiative aims to alleviate the inconvenience of long-distance commuting for students at special schools and reduce their time spent on school buses.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will initially add 16 school buses for 9 special schools, excluding 6 schools that did not apply due to internal route adjustments among the 15 special schools. In addition, if there are further requests for more buses through route adjustments, the office plans to secure the necessary budget and provide additional support.
Each special school will operate school buses on the shortest possible routes. Furthermore, reflecting the demand for new students in the 2025 academic year, the office will adjust bus routes to guarantee the 30-minute commute zone and establish operational plans, including additional vehicles.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will also support the operating costs for school buses and strengthen safety measures by providing safety and disability awareness education to drivers and bus attendants.
