Sacheon City Reports No Issues in Tap Water Quality Tests for E. coli and Others

Sacheon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 12th that the results of the tap water quality inspection conducted in February 2025 confirmed that the water is safe, clean, and beneficial to human health, meeting the standards for drinking water as "healthy water."
The inspection covered purified water supplied by the Gonmyeong Water Purification Plant and the regional water supply Sacheon Water Purification Plant. K-water Gyeongnam Western Branch (Sacheon) regularly conducts water quality inspections.
The results showed that all microbial items, such as general bacteria, total coliforms, and Escherichia coli, as well as harmful inorganic substances like lead, arsenic, and mercury, were either 'not detected' or 'below the standard levels.' Other items were also measured as 'not detected' or 'below the standard levels.'
Details of additional items and tap water quality inspections (21 locations), as well as inspections of taps in old areas (4 locations), can be found on the public notice board of the Sacheon City website.
A city official stated, "For the safe use of tap water in each household, continuous management such as cleaning and replacing old water pipes is important," and added, "We will do our best to supply clear and clean tap water so that citizens can drink it with peace of mind."
