Lecture on Policies to Respond to Population Decline and the Direction of Future Education
The Jeonnam Office of Education announced on the 11th that it held a training session on the theme of 'Glocal Future Education' in collaboration with the Jeonnam Provincial Council and Jeonnam Provincial Government.

View original imageThis training was organized to seek cooperative policy measures for realizing 'Glocal Jeonnam Education,' where the region and the world coexist. During the session, Kim Jeonghee, Chairperson of the Education Committee of the Jeonnam Provincial Council, delivered a lecture on 'The Direction of Future Education in Jeonnam.'
Chairperson Kim shared the vision and strategies for the future of Jeonnam education, emphasizing, "The future of Jeonnam, which faces the crisis of population extinction, depends on education." She also stressed the necessity of close cooperation among the Jeonnam Office of Education, Jeonnam Provincial Council, and local governments, stating, "In this rapidly changing era driven by the digital industrial revolution and artificial intelligence technology, education that fosters problem-solving skills is essential."
She added, "I hope for a successful transformation of Jeonnam education through the harmony of human and material resources, as well as the balance between reality and ideals," and further stated, "An organization cannot develop without self-sacrifice. All employees of the Provincial Office of Education must create a workplace culture in which everyone fulfills their responsibilities."
Seo Eunsu, Director of Job Creation and Investment Attraction at Jeonnam Province, then presented on 'Jeonnam Province's Policies to Respond to Population Decline,' explaining the policy direction of Jeonnam Province to address the region's population decrease and how it can be linked with education. Director Seo emphasized, "Education and regional development must progress together, and various policy efforts are needed to achieve this."
Kim Younggil, Director of Future Education, stated, "The Jeonnam Office of Education is actively promoting special education development zones, 2030 classrooms, and educational allowances for Jeonnam students to respond to the crisis of regional extinction and strengthen educational capacity," and added, "We will continue to strengthen policy support and cooperation so that education can become the driving force of regional development."
