Democratic Party: "Yoon's clenched fist is a spectacle... Denying the leader of the insurrection suspect"
President Yoon Seok-yeol Released on the Afternoon of the 8th
"Prosecutor General Must Prepare for the Harsh Judgment of the People"
The Democratic Party of Korea warned on the afternoon of the 8th regarding the release of President Yoon Seok-yeol, stating, "Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung and the prosecution, who have voluntarily become henchmen of the leader of the rebellion, must prepare for the harsh judgment of the people."
Cho Seung-rae, the chief spokesperson for the Democratic Party, said in a written briefing immediately after President Yoon's release, "The prosecution, which has voluntarily become henchmen of the leader of the rebellion, has put the Republic of Korea and its people in danger."
Spokesperson Cho stated, "The prosecution ultimately released the rebel leader Yoon Seok-yeol. This is an unpardonable surrender that cannot be excused by any words," adding, "They have declared loyalty to the rebel leader instead of the people. Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung and the prosecution, who have voluntarily become henchmen of the rebel leader, must prepare for the harsh judgment of the people."
He continued, "President Yoon's behavior is also disgraceful. He showed a triumphant attitude by clenching his fist to supporters while getting into a vehicle," criticizing, "This shameless attitude denies the fact that he is still a suspect indicted on charges of leading a rebellion."

The betrayal by the prosecution has endangered not only the rule of law but also the Republic of Korea and its people."
Spokesperson Cho added, "However, today's release will not shake President Yoon's impeachment in the slightest," warning, "If the nation tolerates the rebellion and the crimes against the constitutional order witnessed by all citizens, the Republic of Korea cannot be maintained."
