At a tea time with the labor union chairman, Mayor Ju gathered opinions on improving the working environment, including corporate management and worker welfare.
Chairman Choi Won-kyu stated, “The Donong Factory has faced many difficulties over the past 50 years due to various development regulations that have restricted efficient use of the site. Especially during the peak ice cream season, the number of workers at the Donong Factory increases to over 800, but due to limited site utilization, there is a lack of space for workers to enjoy cultural activities or rest.”
In response, Mayor Ju Gwang-deok said, “I deeply empathize with the fact that the Donong Factory has struggled with site utilization due to long-standing development regulations. We will do our best, together with city officials, to create an environment where both companies and workers can grow together.”
Following this, Mayor Ju attended the Binggrae monthly assembly to encourage the workers.
