NIS: "North Korean Deployed Troops Transferring Drone Operation Skills and Tactics in Russia"
"Monitoring the Possibility of Cooperation in the UAV Sector"
There are indications that North Korean troops dispatched abroad are receiving drone piloting techniques and tactics from Russia.
On the 12th, the National Intelligence Service stated in relation to reports that North Korea recently received drone piloting methods and tactics from Russia as compensation for participating in the Ukraine-Russia war, "We are closely monitoring the possibility of cooperation between the two sides in the unmanned aerial vehicle sector."
Last October, North Korea dispatched about 12,000 soldiers to the Russia-Ukraine war, and it is known that in return, they received drone piloting techniques and tactics. Previously, since the transfer of strategic weapon technologies such as intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) re-entry technology was considered too burdensome, there were speculations that Russia might provide unmanned aerial vehicle technology instead.
