View original imageA man in his 30s, identified as A, has been arrested in Seocheon, Chungnam, for murdering a woman in her 40s whom he had never met before.
The Hongseong Branch of the Daejeon District Court issued a warrant for A's arrest in the afternoon, citing concerns that he might flee.
Previously, on the night of the 2nd at around 9:30 PM, A is suspected of stabbing and killing a woman in her 40s, identified as B, multiple times with a weapon while wandering around the Sagok-ri area. The two had no prior acquaintance.
After analyzing CCTV footage, police identified A as the suspect and urgently arrested him at his residence.
During police questioning, A reportedly stated, "I recently lost a large sum of money in a scam and was under severe stress. I felt overwhelmed because the world wasn't helping me, so I went out into the street with a weapon. As soon as I saw B, I killed her."
A police official said, "We plan to discuss convening a committee to review the disclosure of A's personal information."
