Kim Jong-kwang, Professor of Hematology and Oncology, Appointed Director of Chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital: "Committed to Protecting the Health of Local Residents"
Professor Kim Jong-kwang (Department of Hematology and Oncology) was appointed as the 8th director of Chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital on the 5th. The term is for two years, until March 4, 2027.
Professor Kim graduated from Kyungpook National University School of Medicine and has been serving as a professor in the Department of Hematology and Oncology at Kyungpook National University Hospital since 2004. From 2010 to 2013, he served as the Director of the Medical Quality Management Office at Chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital, and from 2017 to 2021, he was the Director of the Planning and Coordination Office at the same hospital.
As a result of his active participation in academic societies, Professor Kim contributes to the development of these societies as a full member of the Korean Academy of Medicine, a director of the Korean Cancer Association, a director of the Cancer Academic Foundation, an auditor of the Korean Society of Medical Oncology, and the chairperson of the Colorectal Cancer Division of the Korean Anti-Cancer Therapy Research Association.

The newly appointed director of Chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital, Kim Jong-kwang, stated, “Since our hospital opened in January 2011, it has achieved remarkable growth over approximately 15 years. Recently, by attracting the Gyeongbuk Regional Infectious Disease Specialized Hospital and Clinical Education and Training Center, it is set to become a mega hospital.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to protect the health of local residents as a central hospital for education, research, and regional public healthcare.”
