Strengthening Currency Exchange Services for Foreign Customers
Number of Currency Exchange Users Soared 18 Times Last Year
GS Retail's convenience store GS25 announced on the 5th that it will newly introduce the ‘Dozen Currency Exchange Kiosk’ for foreign customers.
Since 2023, GS25 has been operating ▲currency exchange service ▲immediate VAT refund service (Tax Refund) ▲foreign currency payment service ▲promotion of payment methods for foreigners. As the number of visitors touring Korea increases, the number of users of GS25's currency exchange service last year increased 18 times compared to the previous year. The usage rate of tax refund services grew by 935% compared to the previous year.

View original imageGS25 plans to strengthen foreign financial services this year by introducing new currency exchange kiosks. The newly installed kiosks can be placed both inside and outside convenience stores, enhancing convenience and accessibility for foreign customers.
Also, it provides 24-hour currency exchange services and allows exchange of 15 foreign currencies including US Dollar, Japanese Yen, Euro, and Chinese Yuan into Korean Won. A ‘prepaid card’ service is also offered, enabling both issuance and charging. Foreign tourists can purchase prepaid cards at the kiosk and charge them with 15 foreign currencies, which are automatically converted into Korean Won upon charging.
