Busan Port Authority Achieves Highest Grade in Public Data Provision and Data-Driven Administration Evaluation
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sang-geun) received the highest ratings in the ‘2024 Public Data Provision and Data-Based Administration Evaluation’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety evaluates ‘Public Data Provision and Data-Based Administration’ annually to encourage free use of public data by anyone and to promote data-based administrative work within institutions. In 2024, a total of 679 organizations (46 central administrative agencies, 17 metropolitan local governments, 226 basic local governments, and 240 other public institutions) were evaluated.
BPA was recognized for its continuous efforts in quality management to open high-quality public data by understanding the actual data demand of users, achieving the highest rating in the ‘Public Data Provision Evaluation’ for three consecutive years, following the previous year.
Additionally, BPA earned the highest rating in the ‘Data-Based Administration Evaluation’ through efforts such as strengthening capabilities via specialized data training for executives and employees and discovering data analysis projects.
BPA expanded and reorganized its port logistics platform, ‘Chain Portal,’ and notably established the electronic delivery order system for the first time in Korea. This system was applied to all 10 container terminal operators in Busan Port, improving work processes between carriers and truck drivers, securing port logistics data, and opening it as data, continuously striving to revitalize the data-based economy.
