Jeonnam Office of Education: "Apply for Education Allowance for New Elementary Students"
100,000 KRW Voucher Card Provided Monthly
Applications Open for First-Grade Elementary Students Starting from the 4th
The Jeonnam Office of Education announced that, starting from the 4th, it will accept applications for the 'Jeonnam Student Education Allowance' for this year's new first-grade elementary school students.
The 'Jeonnam Student Education Allowance' is the nation's first educational welfare policy that provides all elementary school students in Jeonnam with 100,000 KRW per month. This allowance is designed to help students plan self-directed learning activities and develop economic thinking skills.
This application is open to new first-grade students at elementary schools in Jeonnam this year, and guardians can apply through the 'Jeonnam Student Education Allowance Application' link on the Jeonnam Office of Education website.
The allowance is provided in the form of a voucher card (Jeonnam Dream Realization Symbiosis Card). Guardians who apply for the allowance can visit a nearby Nonghyup branch with their ID or apply for the card online (Nonghyup Card website). After applying, the card will be delivered by mail to the designated address within 3 to 5 days. The allowance can be accumulated and used within the year, but points generated in 2025 must be used by December 15 of this year.
The Office of Education operates a call center to guide the application and usage of the student education allowance. Detailed information, including where the allowance can be used, is available on the 'Jeonnam Student Education Allowance' page of the Office of Education website.
Shim Chisuk, Director of Educational Autonomy, stated, "We will continue to support the Jeonnam Student Education Allowance so that it can provide practical help for students' learning and growth," and added, "We will continue to improve and develop the system so that the allowance can be used even more valuably for educational purposes in the future."
